Environmental Impact Assessment

Environmental Impact Assessment (VIA) applies to projects that are likely to have significant and negative environmental impacts and is a well-established procedure within the Italian legislative framework for environmental assessments.

In the more than 30 years since the first piece of legislation transposing the VIA procedure into Italian law, there have been many changes in regulation and practice.

On the one hand, the methods and technicalities with which environmental impact studies are drafted have been consolidated. On the other hand, for a correct and effective approach, the adequacy of the technical contents to the specificities of the project and the existence of a fruitful interaction with the competent authority remain central.

With this in mind, on the basis of a detailed analysis of the specific features of the project under assessment and thanks to an inveterate familiarity with the requirements expressed by the competent authorities, IRIDE is able to offer the drafting of environmental impact studies that meet high quality standards and, above all, focus on the central issues concerning the environmental aspects of the proposed work.

Taking advantage, moreover, of its many years of experience in the world of environmental permitting, IRIDE is able to support proponents in organising and proposing specific methodologies for drafting environmental impact studies in order to provide the proponent with its own standards, interpreting and characterising the standard in relation to the specific nature of the work being assessed.
